Welcome to Honey Creek State Natural Area and Guadalupe River State Park
The Friends of Guadalupe River/Honey Creek, Inc. is a non-profit support organization working with these two adjacent State Parks. Our parks offer opportunities for interpretation, education and outreach to our youth. One of our primary goals is to meet this need for the public.
We offer weekly programs throughout the year. On-going is a mile hike along Honey Creek Canyon each Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Program topics and trail guides will vary to take advantage of the changing seasons. Other special programs are also offered. We are still a very young organization with just a few core volunteers. There are many opportunities for citizens to participate and build projects with the support of our organization.
Tradition and History are a source of pride for any organization. With this in mind it is our challenge to capture the achievements and promote excellence through highlighting the activities, events and accomplishments of the Friends of Honey Creek and the Guadalupe River State Park. To motivate and instill increased membership we need to highlight our past successes and focus on our future achievement opportunities.
Can you help us document the park's history? Oftentimes, previous visitors, former members, and people with other past connections to The Friends of Guadalupe River and Honey Creek Inc. have stories, historic photographs, or other memorabilia which help us to better understand the history of this area. If you have historic objects or photographs that you would like to donate to the park, or if you have stories to share, please contact the Webmaster who will pass the information to the appropriate person.
