Kids in Nature: Who Goes There?
2:00 - 3:30 p.m.
From tracks and scat to nests and scrapes, clues of critters are all around us. Park Interpreter Craig Hensley will lead your youngsters (and you) on an all-out search for the signs of who lives in and around the park during this afternoon of investigative fun! Meet at the Amphitheatre.

Winter Bird Walk
8:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Join us for a bird walk at Honey Creek State Natural Area. Well search for the birds that call the natural area home, from over-wintering sapsuckers and winter wrens to our resident species including cardinals and titmice. Please bring binoculars and dress for the weather. (the park does have a limited number of binoculars for loan). This program is free of charge with regular admission to the park. Meet at the Rust House inside the park.

Full Moon Meander
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Join us for a walk under the full moon. Well see whos out and about, call for owls and check out the moon through a telescope. Meet at the Park Headquarters to drive to our hiking spot.

A Bird in the Hand
8:30 - 11 a.m.
Park Interpreter and bird bander Craig Hensley is at it again! Hell be capturing, banding and releasing songbirds that call the park home during the winter, from cardinals and chickadees to goldfinches and wrens. Youll learn how to identify the birds, as well as learn about the whys and hows of bird banding, including how you can help. Each person assisting in the release of a bird will be presented with a certificate and become a member of the GRSP Bird Buddy Club. This program will be held at the Rust House inside Guadalupe River State Park.
Kids in Nature: Our Feathered Friends
2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Join us for a up close look at the world of birds. Well check out the wonderful adaptations that birds have, from feathers to beaks, learn how we identify them, and then see a few up close and personal. Meet at the Rust House.
Stories in the Stars
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Join us for a look at the starry night. Well check out the constellations as we discover together who Cassiopeia, Orion and the Gemini Twins were. Then, before we check out the Orion Nebula and other celestial delights with our telescopes, youll help us tell the story entitled the Perils of Andromeda. Meet at the Amphitheatre.

Join our Park Interpreter for an afternoon of body parts and pieces! Well take a look at all kinds of bones, skulls and other artifacts and try to figure out who is who. Youll also have the chance to learn the difference between different animals through their skulls, teeth and fur. Meet at the amphitheatre.
Prowlin for Owls
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Owls are a source of mystery for many of us, yet these denizens of the dark have many wonderful adaptations for survival. Join us for a presentation on owls, meet a live owl up close and then head out on the trail in search of great-horned, barred and eastern screech owls. Be sure to dress for the weather.. Meet at the Rust House inside the park.
