10-13-2005 Executive Board Meeting of the Friends of GR/HC, Inc.
Called to order 6:37pm.
Quorum was established; members present- Wilt, Holly, Tom, Terry, J.W. Dave, Dan and Laura.
- Holly moved to purchase a lock for the storage shed, motion was seconded; motion carried.
- Discussion of signage at the entrance of Honey Creek at the Rust House. It is suggested that the Park provide a sign with lock and chain closure for the gate. Laura will check into it.
- Life members Tim Hixon and Courtney Walker are the only 2 life members. They will remain on the membership roster data base.
- No further business, meeting adjourned at 6:50pm.
10-13-2005 General Meeting of Friends of GR/HC, Inc.
Called to order at 6:50pm.
- Minutes were approved.
- Treasurers Report given by J.W.; approved and filed for audit.
- J.W. noted that signature cards must be signed by new officers.
- Closing the Broadway Bank Money Market Account due to high monthly charges was discussed; J.W. will report on this at the November meeting.
- Walks: Back-up hike leaders on short notice: Park staff or scheduled hike leader will call leaders who live close by the park if the scheduled leader cant make it.
- Sat. Evening Program: A new chair person is needed to contact and schedule presenters.
- Web Site: the web site is Honeycreekfriends.com. Minutes and hike leader schedule will be posted on the site.
- Halloween event: Tom will take care of food and drinks, Terry has 21 station hosts confirmed. Terry will bring tent, propane cooker and 2 roasters for hot dogs. Hot dogs will be cooked ahead of time to save time. Holly will supply marshmallow pit. Set up time will begin at 10:00am.
- Publicity: Terry will send notices of Halloween event to all local newspapers and fliers to area schools.
- Park Update: Public hunts are underway, no animals taken as yet.The grassy area near the amphitheater will be paved by next summer.
- A meeting on the development of the Northside trails and facilities will be held October 28th.
Seeing no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:22pm.
